At ASA Zambia, Leeth is focused on expanding financial inclusion through scalable microfinance solutions, enhancing operational excellence, and deepening stakeholder relationships. He is passionate about empowering underserved communities and building high-performing teams that drive sustainable impact. Leeth holds a Master’s in Business Administration and has received multiple certifications in leadership, digital transformation, and compliance. His work is anchored in integrity, innovation, and a deep commitment to creating value for clients and communities.

Chief Financial OfficerMr. Herman Kambo is a seasoned chartered Accountant with over 20 years of proven experience at executive finance level in financial services/banking, Insurance and FMCG sectors. He is a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, is a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and prior to joining ASA he worked as a Chief Financial Officer/ Chief Operating Officer in various companies which include Swan General Insurance, Access Bank Zambia and Pan African Building Society (Housing Finance). In the formative years of his career, he also spent considerable time in Audit & Accounting practice at BDO Zambia.

Currently serving as the Human Resources & Administration Manager at ASA Microfinance Zambia Limited, Betty has a proven track record of driving performance and enhancing operational efficiency through data-driven human capital strategies. Betty's career journey reflects her diverse expertise across various sectors of banking, including Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, and Microfinance. Her deep understanding of the microfinance landscape in Zambia allows her to effectively oversee HR functions, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulatory compliance while championing employee engagement and talent development. Betty has held pivotal roles at Entrepreneurs Financial Center Zambia Ltd (EFC), Rent To Own (Zambia) Ltd (RTO) and leadership positions at Barclays Bank Zambia Plc, where she honed her skills in customer service, business development, and financial analysis. Betty's academic credentials further bolster her professional acumen; she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Zambia and he is currently pursuing a master’s in human resource management. She is a Full Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management.

She has a strong background in external and internal audit across diverse sectors including financial services, manufacturing, and public entities. Ethel has proven expertise in risk-based auditing, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. She is currently responsible for managing the Internal Audit function at ASA Zambia, offering advisory services to senior management and other stakeholders including the various committees at board level and other external stakeholders. She is committed to promoting strong governance and risk management through strategic audit practices.

Leveraging robust problem-solving expertise, Joseph excels in harnessing the power of diverse technologies and disciplines to drive digital transformation. Holding a bachelor’s degree in computer science and trainings in Fortinet security and infrastructure, he brings a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership acumen Joseph is a Full member of the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).

Dirk Brouwer co-founded ASA International in 2007 and has since served as the company’s Executive Director. He is also the Managing Director of Catalyst Microfinance Investors, which he co-founded in 2006. With over 20 years of experience in investment banking, and 11 in microfinance, he has held several senior and supervisory positions, having acted as a board member of CMI and Founder and Managing Director of Sequoia which he founded in 2002. Prior to this, he spent 14 years working at Merrill Lynch and PaineWebber.
Mohammed Azim Hossain
Mohammed Azim Hossain
Azim Hossain assumed the role of Chief of Operations ('CO') of ASA International in July 2023, having served as the Group's Director of Investment, Treasury and Risk Management since 2005. Mr Hossain has over 34 years of experience in the microfinance industry, having worked for 20 years at ASA NGO Bangladesh, where he held various positions including Director of Finance & MIS and Senior Finance Professional. At ASA Bangladesh, Mr Hossain established the finance and MIS systems, was involved in the development and design of the AMMS, assisted in the establishment of risk management frameworks and was in charge of the NGO Partnership Programme, providing technical and financial assistance to microfinance institutions. He has also worked with the UNDP MicroStart programme in the Philippines and Nigeria, where he was responsible for development, products and services, financial management, performance analysis and business planning.
