Managing DirectorMr. A.B.M. Asaduzzaman has over 29 years of international experience in the field of microfinance management. Having worked in ASA Bangladesh and other countries, Mr A.B.M. Asaduzzaman joined ASA in 1991 and has rose through the ranks as Area Chief up to Managing Director for ASA Zambia. He holds a Master of Social Science in Sociology from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.

Chief Financial OfficerMr. Kangombe has over thirty years of professional experience in the field of financial and risk management, auditing, tax planning, accounting, project management, business advisory and insolvency in Zambia and the UK. He is a Fellow of Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, UK, and Fellow of Zambian Institute of Certified Accountants and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Zambia. He has also completed the Lusaka Stock Exchange and Securities Exchange Commission requirements as securities broker and registered representative, and received training in Privatisation Management at the International Development Training Institute in Washington DC, USA. He was one of the pioneers of the privatisation programme in Zambia, having headed the Business Analysis Division of the agency, a unit responsible for and to manage privatisation transactions. In 2005 he was one of the founders of Capital Equity Resources Plc, a SEC regulated asset management company. In the period 2009 to 2018 he was nominated as Board Chairman of Kukula Capital Limited, a private equity and venture capital company. He is a member of the Board and Heads the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee of Veritas General Insurance Plc.

Head Information TechnologyMr. Chitundu is an ICT Networks and Infrastructure specialist and unified communications services consultant. Prior to joining ASA Zambia, he worked for the National Aids Council of Zambia, Alliance One International and Specialised Systems Limited as ICT Administrator responsible for their IT operations and management. He has over 13 years of experience working in the ICT field in various sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Information Technology and Mathematics and has a MBA in Information Systems. He is also is a member of Information Communication Technology Association of Zambia.

Head of FinanceMr. Mozumnder is Accounts and Finance Manager since 2018. He is qualified Chartered Accountant and his professional experience spans over 22 years in education, health, hospitality and tourism as well as microfinance. He is equipped with thorough practical knowledge of banking and finance, Audit, Accounts management and setting internal controls for safeguarding the organization for all unseen possible losses and inefficiencies. He is an Associate member of the Zambia Chartered Institute of Accountants and brings a wealth of international financial experience to ASA Zambia.

Head Internal AuditMr. Zulu has over nine years of experience in the financial sector having worked for FINCA Zambia and FINCA DRC, in accounting and Auditing roles. He has been involved in offering advisory services to management and various external and internal stakeholders in the microfinance sector. He is currently responsible for managing the Internal Audit function at ASA Zambia, offering advisory services to senior management and other stakeholders including the various committees at board level and other external stakeholders.

Human Resources & AdministrationMs. Mutentwa is Head of Human Resources and Administration since 2019. She is a senior HR professional, with over 2 years of operational and strategic HR experience. She leads the strategic direction of the company with regards to its structures, manpower planning and capacity building. Prior to Joining ASA Zambia, she worked with TATA Reliance, India for 8 months as Operations Officer and Customer Service Officer. She holds a bachelor Degree in Economics from Pune University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Administration from Central Institute of Management, India.

Mohammed Azim Hossain
Mohammed Azim Hossain
Azim Hossain assumed the role of Chief of Operations ('CO') of ASA International in July 2023, having served as the Group's Director of Investment, Treasury and Risk Management since 2005. Mr Hossain has over 34 years of experience in the microfinance industry, having worked for 20 years at ASA NGO Bangladesh, where he held various positions including Director of Finance & MIS and Senior Finance Professional. At ASA Bangladesh, Mr Hossain established the finance and MIS systems, was involved in the development and design of the AMMS, assisted in the establishment of risk management frameworks and was in charge of the NGO Partnership Programme, providing technical and financial assistance to microfinance institutions. He has also worked with the UNDP MicroStart programme in the Philippines and Nigeria, where he was responsible for development, products and services, financial management, performance analysis and business planning.

Martijn Bollen is the Chief Compliance, Legal and Risk Officer (‘CCLRO’) of ASA International, having been the General Counsel of the Group since 2007. Mr Bollen has over 15 years of experience in the microfinance industry. He also serves as the General Counsel of Catalyst Microfinance Investors (‘CMI’) and has worked with Sequoia BV since 2005. Mr Bollen worked as an Attorney-at-Law in the banking and finance department of Loyens & Loeff from 2000 to 2004 and from 2004-2005 held roles as in-house counsel and Attorney-at-Law.

Alam Mohamed Zayed

With over 20 years of experience in the field of of medicine, Dr. Mohd Zayed Alam has worked as Managing Director and Physician at South Point Clinic and Hospital in Zambia. He has also been Medical Director, Shareholder and founder of Mum’s Care Clinic and Hospital. Furthermore, he was a Chief Medical Officer supervising a group of doctors at Pearl of health hospital and also worked as a Senior Medical Officer in different hospitals under the Zambian Ministry of Health. In Bangladesh, he worked as a Senior House Officer in the Department of General and Laparoscopic Surgery. He holds a Master of Medicine in infectious disease from the Texila American University, has had an advanced training in HIV treatment and Management from RHRU of University of WITS in South Africa, an advanced training in Adult Management of HIV Medicine and Treatment under the Ministry of Health in Zambia, got his MBBS at the University of Chittagong in Bangladesh and obtained a Higher Secondary school certificate at Chittagong College in Bangladesh. He has a membership of various health societies which include Southern African HIV Clinician Society, British HIV Association, Infectious Disease Society of America, Zambia Association of Private Hospitals, Faculty of General Practitioners in Zambia and Coordinating Member and Focal Person from Private sector to the ‘Protocol Committee of HIV Care and Management under the Zambian Ministry of Health.

Since joining ASA International in 2011, Mr Rashid has held the positions of Exectutive Director Operations, Chief Coordinating Officer and Head of Operations. Prior to this, he was a Director of ASA Bangladesh, from 1992, which is closely associated with the Company’s microfinance programme. With over 29 years of experience in microfinance, he has held multiple senior industry positions, and worked in highly varied developmental contexts including Tajikistan, India, Mexico and Nigeria.
